Join as a Peer Support Specialist at Pawnee Mental Health Services, a non‑profit Certified Community Behavioral Health Center (CCBHC) serving underserved populations across ten counties in North‑Central Kansas.
Pay Range:
$16.54/hr – $16.54/hr (actual pay will be based on your skills and experience).
Job Type:
Full‑time.

Role Overview As a Peer Support Specialist, you will use your lived experience with mental health recovery to provide hope, guidance, and encouragement to individuals navigating their own recovery journeys.
Support clients in building a network of recovery resources.
Encourage independent decision‑making and self‑advocacy in treatment.
Mentor clients through role‑modeling positive coping strategies.
Help clients recognize and manage triggers.
Advocate for client rights and community inclusion.
Transport clients as needed for services and program support.
Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent.
Personal experience as a primary consumer of mental health services.
Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
Valid driver’s license and automobile liability insurance.
Basic computer skills (data entry, retrieval, use of electronic data).
All employees must pass a background check and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Microsoft Office software.
Kansas certification as a Peer Specialist (CPS) preferred; certification required within one year of employment.
