Travel Nurse RN - Operating Room
Travel Nurse Registered Nurse (RN) for Operating Room assignment at Fusion Medical Staffing in Urbana, IL. Weekly pay $2,114 to $2,249. 13‑week contract starting 1/12/2026. Days shift 5 days × 8 hours.
Responsibilities
Prepares operating room and sterile supplies for each procedure.
Assists in patient positioning and ensures comfort and safety.
Maintains sterile field and follows infection control protocols.
Anticipates surgical team needs, providing instruments and supplies promptly.
Monitors patient condition during surgery, documenting significant changes and notifying the surgeon.
Handles surgical instruments and supplies, ensuring proper use, sterilization, disposal.
Manages specimen collection, labeling, and transport; documents all aspects of patient care accurately.
Participates in handoff communication pre‑ and post‑operatively and cleans/restocking between cases.
Collaborates with surgical team to ensure compliance with facility policies and safety rules.
Performs other duties as assigned within scope of practice.
Qualifications Required
One year of recent experience as an Operating Room RN.
Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
Preferred
ACLS, PALS or ENPC certifications.
OR Nursing Certification (CNOR).
Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position.
