Within our Retail locations, Pharmacy Technicians support pharmacy teams to deliver operational and service excellence, ensuring prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately while providing caring service that exceeds patient expectations.

Responsibilities

Follow all company SOPs at each workstation to help our Pharmacists manage and improve patient health.

Adhere to pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation (production, pick‑up, drive‑thru, drop‑off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.

Provide positive patient experiences by showing empathy, creating heartfelt moments, and offering immunizations and other services.

Perform basic inventory activities: putting away medication deliveries, completing cycle counts, returns‑to‑stocks, waiting bin inventories, and other duties as directed.

Contribute to a high‑performing team, embrace a growth mindset, and actively seek opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge.

Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, including traveling to other stores in the market as required.

Understand and comply with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles; ensure compliance with CVS policies on patient safety, controlled substance dispensing, and privacy.

Deliver additional patient health care services (e.g., immunizations, point‑of‑care testing, off‑site clinics) when licensed and trained.

Support immunization responsibilities such as obtaining Technician Immunizer status, educating patients about vaccines, monitoring adverse reactions, and managing vaccine supplies.

Required Qualifications

Comply with state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy, including age, education, and licensure/certification.

If no state minimum age is specified, be at least 16 years old.

If no state minimum education is specified, have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school.

State‑level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state.

Complete rigorous company training within the designated timeframe.

Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.

Ability to concentrate for extended periods, pivot quickly between tasks, and verify prescription information and label accuracy.

Excellent customer service and team orientation: friendly assistance, responsive to patient reactions, and effective problem resolution.

Strong communication skills: verbal, written, active listening, and instruction clarity.

Proficiency in basic mathematical reasoning for prescription dispensing calculations.

Physical ability for prolonged standing, lifting up to 20 lbs, repetitive finger movements, and good visual acuity.

Ability to receive and convey detailed information orally.

Preferred Qualifications

1–3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.

Experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.

Willingness to work in the home store and across the market in other locations to meet business needs.

Anticipated Weekly Hours 20 hours (Part time)

Pay Range $16.00 – $27.00 per hour.
