Personal Care Specialist (Full Time)

Location: Pembroke Pines, FL
Salary: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
The Role RISE Personal Care Specialists engage in one-on-one interactions with patients and/or customers from the time they enter the retail area until they check out and exit the store. Our ideal Personal Care Specialist is friendly, upbeat, and possesses deep product knowledge, connecting each unique patient and/or customer with the right product and method of consumption. The Personal Care Specialist is a master of our menu and guides anyone who walks through the dispensary’s doors.
Responsibilities
Engage with and assist patients and/or customers in a customer-facing, intimate retail environment
Play an active part in patients' and/or customers' education on products, methods of consumption, and safety as part of patient interaction
Utilize product and consumption‑method knowledge to recommend a safe and effective regimen suited to each patient’s and/or customer’s needs; stay current on product knowledge
Promote a positive, communicative, patient- and/or customer‑oriented work environment
Assist in verifying order deliveries for accuracy
Provide necessary support to the management team to ensure retail store operations run smoothly, properly, and in compliance with applicable rules and regulations, including daily activities, maintenance, and patient information for any reported issues and/or complaints
Ensure local and state cannabis regulations are properly enforced and upheld
Ensure sales floor is correctly stocked and the store’s presence is well maintained and compliant
Maintain hard‑copy files as required
Follow security measures and safety compliance procedures
Complete duties at assigned workstations during scheduled shifts, including front‑of‑house and back‑of‑house responsibilities and maintenance tasks
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
At least one year of customer service experience; preference for candidates with specialty, customer‑facing retail experience
Meeting scheduling and availability requirements (mornings, days, nights, and weekends)
Reliable, responsible, and dependable attendance
Must be 21 years or older
Must pass all required background checks, including state‑specific cannabis employment requirements
Possess a valid driver’s license or state ID
Must remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the cannabis industry
Prior cannabis experience not required
Additional Requirements
Ability to perform tasks for prolonged periods (up to the duration of a scheduled shift or workday), including moving around the dispensary and fulfilling work assignments
Remain in a stationary position, if required, to meet business needs
Communicate with individuals and groups directly
Operate point of sale systems, computer, and office productivity machinery (including word processing, database management, spreadsheets, and email)
Prepare patient and/or customer orders by moving and placing products
Inspect and receive detailed information, such as customers’ dates of birth, orders, or inquiries
Move inventory and materials weighing up to 30 pounds independently
Position self to move inventory and materials in storage areas
Skills
Consistent demonstration of excellent customer service skills
Desire to continuously learn more about cannabis, cannabinoids, and the endocannabinoid system, GTI products, and cannabis therapies
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all employees
Effective listening and communication skills, both verbally and in writing, with various audiences
Previous experience with POS systems
Understanding of applicable cannabis laws and regulations, safety regulations, local municipal codes, and standard operating procedures
Ability to follow instructions and incorporate constructive criticism from managers
Professionalism and integrity, including handling confidential information and complying with HIPAA requirements
Working Conditions
Patient- and/or customer-facing environment
Ability to work outdoors in varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions
Exposure to cannabis and/or allergens that might be present in an environment where cannabis is present and prevalent
