This position is responsible for driving the creation of high-quality, market-responsive certificate programs that strengthen the talent pipeline, advance employer engagement, and expand access to lifelong learning opportunities. The Associate Director supports new program development and management of existing programs for Professional Development Online. This position contributes to innovative online learning initiatives by working collaboratively with industry, community organizations, employers, and other departments within the University.**Job Responsibilities:**Collaboration and Industry Engagement: Cultivates and maintains strong relationships with employers, academic departments, professional associations, and industry leaders to ensure program offerings align with evolving workforce needs. Assists Director with identifying, establishing and managing strategic relationships with content vendors, organizations, and employers to expand the reach and impact of professional development initiatives. Seeks opportunities for alignment with local, state and federal workforce funding initiatives. Researches labor and workforce data to identify industry skill needs and oversees Industry Advisory Board. 40%Program Leadership and Strategy: Collaborates with the Director of Professional Development Online to assess workforce development needs, set program priorities and ensure alignment with the strategic goals and objectives of LSU Online and Continuing Education. Leads the planning, implementation and continuous improvement of online professional development programs. Provides leadership and supervision for professional staff and instructors. 25%Course Management: Support implementation and administration of online professional development courses and content partner programs. Monitors program performance metrics, analyzes data to identify emerging trends, and implement strategies to enhance program effectiveness and learner outcomes. Collaborates with marketing to promote offerings, drive enrollment, and ensure a high-quality learner experience. 15%Fiscal and Operational Management: Assists the Director in monitoring expenditures and revenue to ensure fiscal responsibility. Supports operational efficiency through data-informed decision-making, systems optimization, and process documentation. Contributes to reporting and assists with negotiations and contract execution. 15%Other duties as assigned. 5%**Minimum Qualifications:**Bachelor's degree in Business, Education, Communication or equivalent with five years experience in Higher education or program management. *Degree Substitute: LSU values skills, experience, and expertise.
