Job Overview
Operating Room Charge Nurse at Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Fort Worth, TX. Ensure high‑quality patient care through efficient OR flow, staffing coordination, and collaborative leadership. Responsibilities
Coordinate patient flow through the Operating Room phase, ensuring organized and efficient operations. Develop and update daily, weekly, and monthly staffing plans. Disseminate information from leadership to OR staff and manage communication to department management. Delegate and oversee operational activities; train staff in patient care protocols. Act as a primary resource and provide guidance to licensed and non‑licensed personnel. Maintain accurate physician preference cards. Collaborate with Material Management, Radiology, and Ster Process to meet surgical demand. Partner with Quality and Infection Control to adhere to evidence‑based practices. Advocate for patient physical and psychological needs; perform assessment and reassessment upon admission. Document interventions and patient responses; communicate to responsible practitioners. Take emergency call and after‑hours call as assigned. Apply best practices to improve patient outcomes; integrate care across disciplines. Implement orders safely per standards of practice; supervise sedated patient care. Maintain records per established policies and procedures; update policies as needed. Qualifications
Graduate of an approved nursing school; BSN preferred. Licensed RN in the state of TX. BLS required. Minimum two (2) years’ experience in an operating room setting. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Effective communication and strong organization. Quick adaptation to a fast‑paced environment; solid knowledge of surgical procedures. Understanding of aseptic technique principles. Direct patient care and excellent teaching skills. Judgment in decision‑making and delegation; continuous quality improvement knowledge. Electronic Health Care Record proficiency. Benefits
