We are now offering a $10,000 annual retention bonus on top of an $8,000 sign‑on bonus and $20,000 in tuition reimbursement.
Summary The RN Night Nurse works on a designated nursing unit overnight, ensuring smooth operations and patient safety. Scope of work may be modified by state‑specific rules under the Nurse Practice Act.
Education Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
Licenses/Certification
Current RN Licensure in Vermont
Valid CPR verification
Experience
At least one year of nursing experience (preferred).
Experience or continuing education in gerontological nursing and/or long‑term care nursing is desirable.
Essential Functions
Assess, plan, coordinate, and evaluate residents’ care with the interdisciplinary team.
Document residents’ conditions and nursing needs accurately and in a timely manner.
Report pertinent observations and reactions to supervisors and physicians promptly.
Receive and record physicians’ orders.
Communicate staffing problems and needs to the Nurse Manager; provide input on staffing ratios and deployment.
Provide shift and supervisory staff with accurate and complete resident status reports; maintain the 24‑hour report book.
Supervise, direct, and evaluate staff (RNs, LPN/LVNs, medication aides, and others) as directed; participate in counseling, disciplinary actions, and terminations to the extent permitted by state law.
