Registered Nurse (RN)- Acute Care-Surgical/Ortho/Trauma -FT Nights We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Acute Care Surgical/Ortho/Trauma, full‑time nights at Wellstar Health Systems, Inc., located in Austell, GA.

Job Summary: The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed care providers who ensure that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized, high‑quality, safe patient care.

They work under the leadership of Nurse Managers and additional leaders and are supported through the Wellstar Shared Governance Model.

Practice is guided by the Wellstar Professional Practice Model, evidence‑based practice, and research.

The RN supports voice of the patient, system policies, and procedures while working toward service excellence goals.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

Performs the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation) using evidence‑based practice, analytical/critical thinking, and individualized care.

Provides relationship‑based, patient‑centered care consistent with population‑specific characteristics (e.g., age, gender, disease).

Partners with patients and significant others using appropriate methods for setting and purpose (e.g., bedside shift report, interdisciplinary rounds, just‑in‑time and planned patient teaching).

Practices using current clinical practice standards.

Coordinates the delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care that promotes the professional care delivery model.

Demonstrates teamwork and collaboration by practicing in a fiscally responsible manner and promoting the recruitment and retention of all healthcare team members.

Participates and supports performance improvement, inclusive of all stakeholders, through research utilization and shared governance.

Completes all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments, mandatory education, and population‑specific education.

Serves as a preceptor/mentor for other professional nurses and staff or students for all disciplines.

Promotes evidence‑based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement.

Upholds all health‑care system/organizational policies and procedures and clinical competencies, including legal, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.

Participates in data collection, poses relevant clinical questions, and consults appropriate experts to address practice questions.

Plans for the care of patients across the continuum and supports efficient and effective use of human and material resources.

Participates in the development of protocols and procedures when called upon or through self‑initiation to achieve best‑practice outcomes.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.

Required Minimum Education:

Associate’s Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma; Bachelor’s in Nursing preferred

Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):

RN – Registered Nurse (Single State) or RN‑COMPACT – RN (Multi‑state Compact)

BLS – Basic Life Support or ARC‑BLS – American Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS‑I – Basic Life Support – Instructor

Required Minimum Experience: Less than 1 year of direct patient care experience after completion of an accredited nursing program.
