Position Overview
Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU Nights
– Baylor Scott & White Health – Grapevine
Shift: Full‑time nights (7 pm–7 am). Patient–to–staff ratio: 1:2. Unit size: 20 beds. Unit features include Level II Trauma, Primary Stroke Center, 24/7 Intensivist coverage and strong collaboration with ICU physicians/surgeons.
Essential Functions / Responsibilities
Conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs.
Create, implement, and evaluate patient care plans, adjusting them to reach desired outcomes.
Build therapeutic relationships with patients, families, and staff, maintaining professional boundaries.
Educate patients, families, and peers on health and safety, documenting learning needs and outcomes.
Delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly in collaboration with the healthcare team.
Apply problem‑solving strategies while respecting resource limitations, ensuring safety, effectiveness, and efficiency of care.
Contribute to quality and performance improvement initiatives and shared governance.
Qualifications
Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
Minimum 1 year of recent intensive‑care experience.
Knowledge of nursing laws, regulations, and hospital guidelines.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Proficient in electronic medical record documentation and Microsoft Office.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
