Job Description GBC Advanced Materials is seeking experienced individuals for a Tool and Die Maker position in Latrobe, PA. As a tool and die maker you will build, maintain, assemble, and troubleshoot powder compacting tooling made from carbide and steel components.
You will be responsible for:
Setup and operating of a variety of machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and precision grinders to make necessary components for die sets as well as repair current tooling.
Assemble various types of die sets for different pressing applications.
Identify worn components and refurbish them as necessary to maintain a high quality product.
Troubleshoot issues with dies in powder compacting process and make necessary modifications to the tooling.
Interprets prints, sketches, engineering specifications, and work order instructions for each operation.
Maintain high ethical standards for conduct.
Work collaboratively with design engineer on optimizing designs of new tooling, components and pressing features.
Willing to work reasonable overtime as needed to meet customer and department demands.
Basic Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent.
Good problem‑solving skills.
Good mechanical knowledge.
Basic shop math.
Experience working with manual machines, precision grinders.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous carbide machining experience.
Wire EDM programming/setup/operation experience.
Salary is up to $35.00 per hour, DOE
