The Opportunity We partner with manufacturers across Fremont seeking Tool Makers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.
Key Responsibilities
Design, fabricate, and assemble precision tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges.
Operate conventional and CNC machine tools (e.g., lathes, mills, grinders, EDM) to achieve required tolerances.
Interpret complex engineering blueprints, CAD models, and technical specifications for tool construction and repair.
Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of existing production tooling to minimize downtime.
Conduct precision measurements using metrology equipment (e.g., micrometers, calipers, CMM) to ensure tool quality and accuracy.
Select appropriate materials, heat treatments, and surface finishes for tooling applications.
Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve tooling issues and optimize manufacturing processes.
Recommended Qualifications
Proven experience as a Tool Maker or in a precision machining role.
Proficiency in operating manual and CNC machine tools (mills, lathes, grinders, EDM).
Strong ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, schematics, and GD&T.
Expertise in using precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, height gauges).
Solid understanding of various metal properties, heat treatment processes, and tooling materials.
Bonus Qualifications
Proficiency with CAD/CAM software.
Experience in CNC programming and setup.
TIG/MIG welding experience for tool repair.
Familiarity with advanced metrology equipment (e.g., CMM).
