The College of Engineering at the University of Georgia is seeking a Post‑Doctoral Associate to support grant‑funded research projects within the Institute for Resilient Infrastructure Systems (IRIS). The applicant will work under the supervision of Dr. Brian Bledsoe, Professor and Director of IRIS, and will collaborate with a multidisciplinary research team.

Responsibilities

Model and monitor storm‑water and floodplain systems, natural infrastructure, and water quantity and quality in mixed land‑use watersheds (25%).

Develop and produce communication and outreach materials (20%).

Assist in creating design guidance for natural infrastructure systems (15%).

Support short‑course, undergraduate, and graduate curriculum development centered on natural infrastructure and Engineering With Nature.

Co‑author journal manuscripts and research reports, and present findings at scientific meetings.

Maintain regular, timely communication with the Principal Investigator regarding research progress and laboratory operations (10%).

Qualifications

PhD in hydrology, water resources engineering, coastal engineering, or a related field.

Advanced expertise in hydrodynamic modeling, storm‑water management, and field monitoring techniques.

Strong ability to conceptualize and execute high‑impact engineering research within a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment.

Professional Engineer licensure is desirable.

Prior experience with grant‑funded research projects is preferred.
