Manager of HIM & Medical Records – EHS Medical Records – Full Time

Responsibilities
Oversee operations of the HIM and Medical Records department, supporting staff responsible for medical records management, release of information, and related HIM functions.
Manage and monitor the release of information processes to ensure compliance with established turnaround times and applicable regulations such as HIPAA.
Coordinate medical record retrieval and fulfillment for legal, insurance, and continuity-of-care requests.
Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timely availability of medical records to support patient care and regulatory requirements.
Identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and ensure timely and secure responses to record requests across the organization.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, Business, or related field.
5+ years of experience with progressive healthcare middle revenue cycle responsibilities, including health information management and medical records.
2+ years of direct supervisory experience.
Comprehensive understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA privacy laws.
CHPS Certification for Privacy and Security (preferred).
Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification (preferred).
