In this role, you will provide project field engineering specialization and expertise with work planning and packaging, material management, quantity verification and validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and subcontract coordination. Your recommendations will ensure field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements. Major Responsibilities:

Work Planning & Packaging

Prepares construction drawings and sketches. Leads preparation of construction drawings and schedules and the design of temporary construction facilities and ensures preparation of "as built" drawings and other job plans. Material Management

Initiates requisitions for field purchases. Prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment. Quantities

Verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required. Safety / Quality Control

Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely. Technical

Proactively considers continuous learning or shows interest to pursue appropriate learning activities. For Direct Hire:

Develops firm understanding of system and area scoping and drawings required for package development. Reviews and approves inspection test plans. Coordinates reviews of subcontractor submittals. Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience. Required Knowledge and Skills:

Technical knowledge of all phases of construction engineering relating to a single discipline interfacing with all areas, or in a multi-discipline position assigned to a single area. Thorough knowledge of construction activities as they relate to engineering disciplines, cost and scheduling, and contract administration. Familiar with Bechtel’s Business Ethics handbook and policies. Knowledge and understanding of the application and requirements of the Project Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) Handbook and the Bechtel Core Processes as they relate to area of responsibility. Knowledge of project-specific environmental compliance requirements. Knowledge of Bechtel’s “Zero Accidents” safety program. Knowledge of the use of subcontracts; knowledge of the contractor/subcontractor’s responsibilities contained in subcontract documents. Prior experience supervising and administering subcontractors. Additional Information:

Must be willing to work a flexible schedule as required that may include but not limited to nightshift, or split shift. Work requires the physical ability to conduct field inspections including but not limited to: extensive walking in and around a construction site often in high heat and high humidity conditions, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces, and working in small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress). Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.).
