Hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse to work providing both short‑term rehabilitation and long‑term care.
Position Summary
In conjunction with the Unit Director, the Licensed Practical Nurse utilizes a general understanding of the principles of Nursing in the development of and implementation of individualized Nursing Care Plans to ensure that the needs of the customers are met. He/she assists in the orientation of and supervision of nursing personnel, attends to the daily operations of the unit on per shift, unit level, and assumes responsibilities of a leadership role as needed.
Responsibilities
Takes an active role in direct customer care
Administers medication and/or treatment and documents the same to customers
Responsible for clinical documentation related to customer activity
Assists in developing and implementing individual nursing care plan for each customer and participates in care plan meetings
Counts and records class drugs when beginning and ending shift
Communicates pertinent data to Unit Manager/Supervisor and/or Physician
Reviews and updates communication board; monitors and addresses alerts frequently throughout shift
Provides for emotional and physical comfort and safety of customers
Assist Physician in rounds and examination of customers, as needed
Supervises and coordinates activities of Certified Nursing personnel and other LPNs in providing direct customer care in adherence to State, Federal and Corporate guidelines
Enhances education by attending all mandated in‑service programs
Puts Customer Services First: Ensures that customers and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals' needs and rights
Educational / Vocational Requirements
The Licensed Practical Nurse must be a graduate of an approved school for Practical or Vocational Nursing and must be currently licensed by the State Board of Nursing.
Experience is preferred in geriatric or rehabilitative Nursing.
