Clinical Research Coordinator 2 (Fixed-term 24 months) Join Stanford University School of Medicine’s Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine as a Clinical Research Coordinator 2 on a 24‑month fixed–term assignment. The role involves independent management of complex clinical studies on neural mechanisms of anesthesia, nociception, and perioperative patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

Oversee subject recruitment and study enrollment goals; develop and implement recruitment strategies.

Manage data collection systems, extract, analyze, and interpret study data.

Develop project schedules, metrics, and accountabilities; lead team meetings and prepare minutes.

Supervise, train, and mentor new staff or students; assist with performance evaluations.

Audit laboratory procedures and ensure compliance with regulations; implement corrective actions.

Monitor and report serious adverse events; resolve study queries with investigators and sponsors.

Define, recommend, and implement policy and process improvements.

Create and manage study budgets; track milestones and invoice sponsors per contract.

Ensure regulatory compliance and conduct regular document inspections.

Prepare and submit Investigational New Drug (IND) applications to FDA when applicable; maintain IRB renewals.

Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least two years of clinical research experience, or equivalent education and experience.

Strong interpersonal skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office and database applications.

Experience with research protocols and regulatory or governing bodies, including HIPAA, FDA, IRB, and Good Clinical Practice.

Knowledge of medical terminology.

Certifications & Licenses Society of Clinical Research Associates (SOCRA) or Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) certification preferred. Valid California driver’s license may be required.

Physical Requirements

Frequently stand, walk, twist, bend, stoop, squat, and use fine grasping.

Occasionally sit, reach above shoulders, perform desk‑based computer tasks, use a telephone, write by hand, lift, carry, push, and pull up to 40 lb.

Rarely kneel, crawl, climb ladders, grasp forcefully, and handle objects heavier than 40 lb.

Working Conditions

Exposure to hazardous materials, chemicals, and body fluids; risk of contagious disease transmission.

May require extended or unusual work hours related to research needs.

Estimated pay range: $86,248 to $100,158 per annum.
