The Substance Abuse Therapist provides individual, group, and family therapy for clients with substance use and co-occurring mental health conditions. Core responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, facilitating therapy sessions, documenting services, and coordinating care with interdisciplinary teams to support recovery and relapse prevention.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field
Active state licensure (LPC, LCSW, LMFT) and preferred addiction-specific certification
Strong knowledge of evidence-based addiction treatments and co-occurring disorders
Excellent facilitation, documentation, and crisis intervention skills
Experience in behavioral health is preferred. The role involves working in various settings with flexible shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
