Base pay range $115,147.00/yr - $133,226.00/yr
Duties Description RNs coordinate nursing care activities with other health‑care disciplines to integrate the nursing regimen with the total treatment plan of residents. They observe nursing care, visit residents to ensure correct execution of assigned care and adherence to physician orders, and assess whether additional or modified services are needed. They review and evaluate nursing care plans after a comprehensive resident background review to ensure the selected care, procedures, and practices best serve the resident’s physical and mental needs. RNs may act as charge nurses on a unit and are responsible for maintaining inventory standards for medicine, controlled drugs, and narcotics.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
Open to NYS Employees: Registered in the state and eligible to transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
Open to the Public: No written examination required. Applicants not currently a permanent Nurse 2 or on the eligible list must be licensed and registered to practice nursing in New York State and have at least one year of full‑time post‑RN licensure clinical nursing experience.
Continued employment contingent upon maintaining a valid NYS license.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with the geriatric population.

Salary reflects the contractual salary range at step 4 and includes a geographic pay differential of $35,000, a downstate adjustment of $4,000 for New York City, Westchester, and Suffolk counties, shift differentials for evening and night, and $575 of inconvenience pay.

NY HELPS: This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS). For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title may be filled via a non‑competitive appointment, which means no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply. At a future date (within one year of appointment), it is expected employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non‑competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to compete in an examination. While serving permanently in a NY HELPS title, employees may take part in any promotion examination for which they are qualified.
