Pay Range Base salary:

$228,896.00/yr – $228,896.00/yr

Responsibilities

Independently diagnose, treat, prescribe, and provide general medical care and treatment services in a 252‑bed skilled nursing facility for veterans and their dependents.

Provide medical leadership and supervision in collaboration with FNPs to deliver quality health care services while ensuring compliance with clinical, statutory, and regulatory standards.

Caring for an assigned service of residents; conducting routine visits, documenting encounters, collaborating with colleagues, performing admissions, and attending interdisciplinary care team reviews.

Participate in the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS). For the duration of the NY HELPS Program the position may be filled via a non‑competitive appointment, which means no examination is required, but all applicants must meet the minimum qualifications.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Possession of a license and current registration to practice medicine in New York State, plus one year of post‑licensure medical experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Board certified in internal medicine or family medicine with SNF experience and/or geriatrics fellowship trained FM/IM. Licensed to practice medicine in NY without restrictions. Active DEA license and proficiency with entry of clinical documentation/orders into EMR systems.

Employees hired under NY HELPS are expected to have their non‑competitive employment status converted to competitive status within one year of permanent appointment, without having to compete in an examination. While serving permanently in an NY HELPS title, employees may take part in any promotion examination for which they are qualified.
