Cath Lab Tech Days - Baylor Weekend Option

Overview: Cath Lab Tech Days - Baylor Weekend Option. This role performs direct and indirect functions in the Cardiac Cath Lab and supports Physicians and staff with clinical and technical aspects of cardiovascular care. The position involves scrubbing, monitoring and circulating in invasive procedures in the Cath lab and IVR, inventory control, and functioning on all cardiac alerts and STEMI cases. Responsibilities

Assesses physical, psychosocial, and growth and development needs of the patient. Completes pre-, intra-, and post-procedure assessments; informs nurse/MD of any changes in patient condition. Develops an individualized plan of care for the procedure, addressing patient problems, needs, and scheduled procedure. Provides teaching to patient and/or family as well as to staff members. Executes x-ray for desired views (abdominal aorta gram, runoff, division), stores and prints images, and sets priorities for patient care based on needs and resources. Identifies and responds appropriately in emergency patient care situations. Knowledge of setup and monitoring of IABP; assists with setup, insertion, and care of temporary and permanent pacemakers. Qualifications

Education Required: Associate degree in Radiology or equivalent, basic EKG course. Preferred: Bachelor in Radiology or equivalent. Experience Required: 6 months in Cath Lab/Cardiac Intervention Lab. Preferred: 1 year experience providing cardiac cath, radiology care. Certifications Required: BLS; ACLS within 6 months of hire. Preferred: RCIS certification.
