Job Overview
We are a progressive pro-choice family-planning practice seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to provide family planning and abortion services. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical expertise, including experience with labor and delivery, family planning, and outpatient care. This role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient-centered care, ensuring safety, comfort, and positive health outcomes for women across all stages of life. The CNM will also be responsible for patient education, medical documentation, and adherence to HIPAA and NCQA standards.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews.
Provide prenatal, labor & delivery, postpartum, care for women experiencing miscarriage as a result of medication abortion or pregnancy loss at any time during pregnancy.
Perform procedures such as termination of pregnancy, IUD insertion, and medication administration.
Assist with labor management, including pain management strategies and discharge planning.
Document all patient interactions accurately using EMR/EHR systems while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Educate patients on family planning options, contraception methods, and reproductive health.
Maintain proficiency in medical terminology, medical records management, and patient monitoring techniques to ensure high-quality care delivery.
Experience
Proven experience in obstetrics/gynecology (Ob/Gyn), or labor & delivery is preferred.
Demonstrated expertise in suturing, IV insertion, specimen collection/processing, medication administration, and pain management.
Knowledge of medical terminology related to obstetrics and gynecology along with physiology and anatomy knowledge is required.
Ability to perform patient assessments effectively while adhering to HIPAA guidelines for medical records confidentiality.
