Overview
The Kimberly and Eric J. Waldman Department of Dermatology at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is dedicated to delivering comprehensive dermatologic care and advancing dermatology through research and education.
Responsibilities
Provide complex surgical and medical support to the MOHS surgeon with a focus on patient care, comfort, safety, and confidentiality.
Conduct daily evaluation of tissue slide preparation to ensure quality compliance.
Assist in shaving and punching biopsies and excisions, suture removal, wound care, and cosmetic procedures such as Botox, fillers, laser treatments, and peels.
Prepare patients’ charts, forms, instruments, and equipment for surgery and patient care.
Perform routine housekeeping duties, maintain sterile technique, and keep rooms stocked with supplies and linens.
Room patients, take detailed patient history, properly drape exam, and set up for surgical removal.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited course in Histology or Pathology or supervised training by a registered histotechnologist.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a surgical-based practice, including six (6) months of MOHS experience in tissue grossing and preparing frozen tissue sections.
Must be a member of the American Society for MOHS Surgery.

Compensation The salary range for the role is $27,846.6 - $41,769.9 hourly. Actual salaries depend on experience, education, and operational need.
