Research Senior Technician – Radiation Oncology Position in the Department of Medicine, Radiation Oncology, part of The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Responsibilities

Independently conduct assigned experiments.

Perform a variety of molecular, cellular, and biological research techniques and procedures including PCR reactions, gel electrophoresis, assays, cell cultures, and Northern and Western blot analyses.

Sort and process tissue and blood samples.

Test and evaluate current procedures.

Perform routine procedures on laboratory animals.

Record, consolidate, and assist with analysis of research results.

Assist in evaluating validity of data obtained from experimental procedures.

Summarize data for inclusion in grant proposals and manuscripts.

Prepare research progress reports.

Assist principal investigator with the preparation of publications, manuscripts, articles, posters, and abstracts.

Conduct library research on requested topics.

Oversee and maintain accurate records of laboratory activities.

Assist with training of junior research staff, and undergraduate and graduate students in research methods and equipment operation.

Set up and operate laboratory equipment.

Monitor research supply, including specimens and inventory, and initiate procurement requests as needed.

Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required; 4 years of relevant experience required with a high school diploma or GED, 2 years of relevant experience required with an associate’s degree, or 0 years of relevant experience required with a bachelor’s degree.

Additional Information Location: Tsagournis Medical Research Facility (0163). Position type: Regular. Scheduled hours: 40 per week. Shift: First Shift.
