Physical Requirements This position requires regularly lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to or over 50 pounds; standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds; working in confined spaces; occasionally sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time and performing tasks with repetitive motions (such as typing). Also involves some risk of injury from moving, lifting or positioning patients, equipment, or materials; and exposure to radiation, burns, cuts/punctures, blood-borne or airborne pathogens, recombinant DNA or viral vectors, and combative/violent people.

Job Summary The Radiology Technologist will provide diagnostic imaging for patients to assist the patient’s physician in expediting needed care. Job duties include performing or assisting in procedures per department protocols; maintaining a clean and safe work environment; utilizing proper procedures for identifying images, patients and marking images correctly for interpretation; and ordering exams that match the procedures being performed. Customer service is essential, and this position will address patient needs with age-specific criteria, from neonates to geriatrics. Call is required for this position, and the incumbent must meet the call back standards established for General Radiology. This position will also assist in a QA review to maintain professional standards for themselves and student technologists that they are called upon to assist.

Pay & Benefits

The starting pay for this position was recently adjusted. The minimum hourly rate for this position will now be $26.47/hour. All pay rates will be based on candidate’s experience.

This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus: $15,000 for new graduates (less than one year of experience) and $30,000 for candidates with one or more years of experience, contingent upon a 24-month employment commitment. Further details will be discussed during the hiring process.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities The ideal candidate will have extensive customer service experience and be able to communicate in a calm and helpful manner during stressful and/or crisis situations. CPR, PACS, RIS, KY State Radiation Certification is also desired.
