Indian Health Clinic – 703 NE Hancock St, Portland, OR 97212 and Wellness Center – 12360 E Burnside St., Portland, OR 97233

Schedule:

In-person, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm with flexible hours; some evenings and weekends required.

Wage Range:

$20.70 – $22.90 hourly, non‑exempt

Position Overview:

Under the general direction of the Nurse Manager and Medical Director, assist the day‑to‑day operations of the medical team, maintain department/clinic efficiency, and complete all clerk duties in accordance with NARA’s guidelines. Promote a positive work environment, act as a role model, and coordinate break and lunch coverage for staff.

What You Will Do:

Assist with and monitor patient flow throughout the day, including waiting times in the exam room, and problem‑solve to ensure quality patient services.

Provide support to medical assistant staff and coordinate break and lunch coverage throughout the day.

Adjust medical assistant work assignments as needed to maintain appropriate staffing levels when unexpected absences occur.

Monitor and confirm all in‑house medical equipment calibrations are performed per annual schedule.

Organize and maintain equipment, ensuring proper function; perform quality assurance controls on all medical equipment and maintain medical supply inventory.

Order medical supplies using completed materials (purchase) requisitions for the site.

Be available to work evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed at multiple or more than one location.

Show flexibility in a changing and high‑paced environment.

Demonstrate commitment to NARA’s mission by modeling customer service excellence in all internal and external relationships.
