Salary $95,056 - $185,848 per year
Summary Under a collaborative agreement with a physician, the certified nurse midwife (CNM) is an Advanced Practice Provider who, in collaboration with an attending physician, is responsible for the assessment, plan, implementation and evaluation of midwifery care delivered to antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum, and newborn patients. The CNM performs physical exams, collects and documents data, manages labor and spontaneous delivery, conducts diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, orders and schedules laboratory studies and professional consultations, and prescribes appropriate interventions and medications.
The CNM practice includes primary as well as specialized care provided at UK Women’s Health-Georgetown and Georgetown Community Hospital. The CNM promotes safety and quality in clinical care, contributes to research and teaching, and provides leadership in the organization. All CNMs are required to take 8 call shifts per month, as outlined in the OB/GYN Practice Plan.
Responsibilities
Perform physical exams and collect/document patient data.
Manage labor and spontaneous deliveries.
Conduct diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Order and schedule laboratory studies and professional consultations.
Prescribe appropriate interventions and medications.
Promote safety and quality in clinical care.
Contribute to research and teaching.
Provide leadership within the organization.
Complete 8 call shifts per month as required.
Qualifications
MSN (Master’s not required if qualifying education completed by July 1, 2005).
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) certification.
1 year related experience.
Physical aptitude for sitting, standing, lifting, and other job-related tasks.
Physical Requirements Sitting, standing, lifting, etc.
Shift Mostly Monday‑Friday, days, call coverage and weekend/evening shifts as required.
