Job Overview The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College (UC Blue Ash College) invites applications for a full-time, Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Social Work position in our Behavioral Science Department starting August 15, 2026.
Essential Functions
Review, and where necessary, respond in a timely manner to all University-related communications.
Prepare and teach a variety of undergraduate-level social work courses as assigned (typically four per semester); this includes creating and delivering course content through in-person and online formats, routinely evaluating student coursework and providing timely feedback, maintaining routine communication with students, and providing assistance and mentoring outside the classroom. Courses include introductory social work courses at the freshmen and sophomore levels, such as Introduction to Social Work, Introduction to Social Welfare, Families in America, and Poverty in America.
Program coordination (e.g., coordinating textbook selection, consulting with the department chair on the course schedule, serving as a departmental representative at student recruitment events, screening adjunct resumes, serving as the program contact person for students, leading program assessment, organizing student events, etc.).
Engage in limited levels of discipline-specific and/or scholarship of teaching and learning research with the goal of presenting at conferences and/or publishing in appropriate journals.
Participate in shared governance by serving on department, college, and/or university committees, attending a variety of meetings, and engaging in other activities ancillary to or in support of service responsibilities (e.g., participate in department work such as representing the department on college level committees, joining ad hoc college committees, and sub-committee duties as needed).
Other related duties as assigned (e.g., providing classroom assessment data when requested for program assessment, representing the department at Open House functions, etc.).
Minimum Requirements
Eligible for LSW licensure in Ohio as determined by the Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage & Family Therapist Board.
A PhD in Social Work or closely related field that is recognized by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) prior to effective date of appointment (candidates who have completed all coursework for a PhD program in social work or closely related field and are considered ABD will be considered for the position).
Teaching experience equivalent to teaching 4 semester-based undergraduate courses in social work or closely related field as the instructor of record.
This position is not eligible for H-1B sponsorship.
