A leading international engineering company is seeking a Project Buyer to strengthen its Project Procurement and Supplier Contract team. The position is at the heart of strategic project execution — connecting engineering, commercial, and supplier networks to ensure every procurement decision supports performance, compliance, and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Define and implement project procurement strategies from the pre-sales phase through project execution.
Translate project and client requirements into actionable sourcing strategies aligned with business goals.
Engage early with project teams to ensure procurement input maximizes project value.
Lead and manage calls for tenders, from preparation to award, ensuring transparent and competitive processes.
Develop negotiation strategies, finalize supplier contracts, and ensure alignment with client contract requirements.
Demonstrate strong contract management skills, including FIDIC and NEC frameworks.
Represent Procurement in project steering committees and governance bodies.
Conduct risk analyses and ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.
Coordinate procurement activities across all project phases and milestones.
Identify and evaluate suppliers and subcontractors to ensure technical and financial performance.
Build and maintain long-term partnerships with key suppliers.
Monitor procurement performance, savings, and supplier compliance.
Profile
Education: Master’s degree (BAC+5) in Procurement, Supply Chain, or Contract Management.
Experience: 5 to 10 years in project procurement, ideally within engineering, energy, or industrial sectors.
Proven expertise in contract management and claim management.
Experience with FIDIC or NEC contracts is a strong advantage.
Excellent analytical and negotiation skills.
Strong interpersonal and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
Results-oriented, autonomous, and proactive.
Fluent in English and Dutch (French is an asset).
Experience in multicultural and geographically distributed environments.
