Position Overview The company is seeking an experienced and visionary

Senior Landscape Architect-Designer

to join our team. This mid-level leadership role is ideal for a seasoned professional who excels in both creative design and project management. The Senior Landscape Architect-Designer will collaborate on concept development, guide projects through construction, and mentor junior staff while upholding the artistic integrity that defines our brand.

Key Responsibilities Design Leadership

Develop and oversee sophisticated, artful landscape designs aligned with the Company’s distinctive aesthetic.

Maintain the highest standards of craftsmanship and design excellence throughout all phases of work.

Project Management

Lead multiple high-end residential and select commercial projects from concept through completion.

Ensure project quality, timeliness, and client satisfaction.

Produce detailed construction documents and provide field oversight to ensure faithful execution of design intent.

Client Collaboration

Build strong client relationships, interpreting their needs into expressive, custom landscape solutions.

Present design concepts persuasively to clients, stakeholders, and team members.

Mentorship & Studio Leadership

Supervise, mentor, and inspire junior design staff.

Foster a collaborative, innovative, and positive studio environment.

Technical Expertise & Problem Solving

Address site challenges—grading, zoning, drainage, and construction issues—with thoughtful, creative solutions.

Apply deep knowledge of Midwestern native and ornamental plants, construction methods, and landscape systems.

Qualifications Required

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in

Landscape Architecture

from an accredited program.

7+ years of professional experience

in landscape design, preferably with exposure to design studios, construction management, and client relations.

Proficiency in

CAD software

(AutoCAD preferred), hand rendering, and Adobe Creative Suite.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong organizational and project management abilities, with the capacity to oversee multiple concurrent projects.

Collaborative, adaptable attitude with a commitment to maintaining a positive work environment.

Preferred

Registered Landscape Architect (RLA)

credential.

Experience with prairie or woodland restorations and historic garden restorations.

Understanding of architectural appropriateness in garden and site design.

Familiarity with local zoning regulations and permitting processes.
