Nurse Practitioner , where you’ll provide advanced nursing care that transforms lives and fosters recovery. In this role, you’ll conduct comprehensive evaluations, develop personalized treatment plans, and prescribe medications as permitted by state regulations, all while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. Guided by our Medical Director and Nurse Supervisor, you’ll play a vital role in optimizing patient outcomes and ensuring the highest standards of care. Our Team Springfield Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC), located in Springfield, MA, is part of Acadia Healthcare’s Comprehensive Treatment Centers, the leading provider of medication‑assisted treatment in the nation. Our team provides compassionate, high‑quality counseling, therapy, medication, and guidance to patients seeking recovery from Opioid Use Disorder.

Program Overview With 14 outpatient opioid treatment programs across Massachusetts and Rhode Island, CTC partners with nursing homes, justice systems, and community groups to provide holistic, patient‑centered care. From wellness initiatives and holiday celebrations to yoga and animal therapy, we foster a supportive environment for healing and whole‑person well‑being.

Role Responsibilities

Provides initial and annual history and physical evaluation, assesses eligibility for treatment, and evaluates patients’ history of dependence on opioids.

Orders appropriate laboratory studies, reviews results, and provides necessary education, referral, and/or follow‑up services.

Monitors the treatment plans of high‑risk patients.

Prescribes medication for the treatment of substance abuse according to patient needs as allowed by state regulation.

Consults and collaborates with the Medical Director to plan and implement care according to Nurse Practitioner Guidelines.

Reports and documents significant patient issues and adverse events.

Communicates pertinent information to appropriate members of the health care team.

Collaborates with the Nurse Supervisor to optimize quality and efficiency.

Ensures that the program and employees’ transactions and activities comply with all laws and clinic policies.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience Requirements

Minimum of 1 year of experience as a practicing nurse practitioner preferred.

Previous experience in addiction recovery or behavioral health settings (outpatient, residential, or correctional) preferred.

Familiarity with Medication‑Assisted Treatment (methadone, buprenorphine, naltrexone).

Familiarity with state regulatory standards (e.g., 42 CFR Part 2, HIPAA, Joint Commission).

No history of alcohol or drug misuse for a period of three years before employment.

Licenses / Designations / Certifications

Board Certified Nurse Practitioner.

Licensed to practice in Massachusetts.

DEA license.
