As a School-Based Speech Language Pathologist, you will help students overcome communication challenges, improve speech and language skills, and achieve educational goals. Your expertise will be essential in promoting students' overall success and well-being in the school environment. Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments to identify students' communication disorders and develop individualized treatment plans. Provide evidence-based interventions and strategies to improve articulation, fluency, and language skills. Collaborate closely with educators, parents, and team members to create and implement strategies that support classroom and social participation. Monitor progress and adapt treatment plans to ensure optimal outcomes. Offer guidance to parents, teachers, and support staff on strategies to enhance communication skills and facilitate carryover into the classroom. Maintain accurate records, including session notes, progress reports, and billing documentation. Stay current with the latest research, best practices, and techniques in speech-language pathology. Participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, and professional development opportunities. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and ethical standards governing speech-language pathology services in schools. Qualifications
Master's degree or higher in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program. South Carolina licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC SLP) from ASHA preferred. Experience in pediatric or school-based speech-language pathology is highly desirable. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, educators, and support staff. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage a diverse caseload. Dedication to providing culturally competent, student-centered care. Benefits
