Position Overview As a School-Based Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a vital role in helping students overcome communication challenges, improve their speech and language skills, and achieve their educational goals. Your expertise will be essential in promoting students’ overall success and well‑being in the school environment.
Additional Details Begin: December 1, 2025 (position is temporary)

Requirements
Must reside within 45 minutes of the school district
Master’s Degree in Speech & Language Pathology; valid full Michigan license
License in Speech and Language Pathology
Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC); CFs considered
Current LARA licensure
Strong understanding of standardized and informal assessment strategies related to communication disorders
Confidence in conducting comprehensive speech & language evaluations
Ability to plan and provide services for students identified as speech and language impaired
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Evaluate speech and language functions
Complete comprehensive and appropriate evaluations according to MARSE Standards, District Guidelines, and ASHA Guidelines
Provide a complete diagnostic summary report, including a summary of the evaluation information
Maintain communication with parents and other relevant team members
Document student progress through specific objectives and long‑term goals
Complete Medicaid billing services efficiently and timely
Participate in building designated teams to provide pre‑referral interventions
When appropriate, make referrals for further evaluation
Provide direct services related to expressive, receptive, and pragmatic language
Qualifications
Master’s degree or higher in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program
Eligibility for Michigan licensure as a Speech‑Language Pathologist
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC SLP) from the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred
Experience in pediatric or school‑based speech‑language pathology highly desirable
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, educators, and support staff
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage a diverse caseload
Dedication to providing culturally competent and student‑centered care
