Dental Hygiene Clinical Instructor (Part‑time) – Middletown Campus, Frederick, VA
Position Overview This part‑time dental hygiene instructor position encompasses all aspects of clinical instruction and supervision for first‑ and second‑year dental hygiene students at the Middletown campus dental hygiene clinic. Involvement in community and professional associations is preferred as these memberships provide leadership and mentoring attributes. Employment is contingent upon student enrollment and applicant’s flexibility as to scheduled clinic days each semester. This position is a continuous posting; candidates will be contacted based upon student demand.
Responsibilities
Provide clinical instruction and supervision for dental hygiene students.
Develop and deliver instructional materials and clinical protocols.
Assess student performance and provide feedback.
Maintain communication with faculty and administration regarding student progress.
Qualifications
4‑year degree in dental hygiene or related field.
Currently licensed to practice dental hygiene in Virginia.
Local Anesthesia certification.
Current American Heart Association BLS (CPR and AED) training.
Demonstrated experience in clinical practice.
Teaching experience is preferred.
Ability to operate a state vehicle (if required).
Travel to sites or campuses as needed; ability to cover assignments throughout the college service region.
Compensation & Benefits
Hourly rate schedule effective July 1, 2024:
A‑Associate’s Degree:
$40.32
B‑Bachelor’s Degree:
$43.03
C‑Master’s/Doctoral:
$45.70–$48.39
Position is part‑time; cannot exceed 29 hours per week.
Not eligible for health or leave benefits; may offer educational benefits through professional development.
Telework Telework may be an option for certain eligible positions, per DHRM policy 1.61. Eligible positions are determined by the type of work and job requirements as defined by heads of agencies.
