Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing outreach athletic training and duties as assigned. OSU Sports Medicine is a multi-disciplinary outpatient program that provides health care for athletes and physically active people of all abilities.

Primary Responsibilities Outreach activities consisting of event and practice coverage, preventative practice, athletic training room coverage, educational involvement and other duties related to coverage for college, high school, recreational or club sports.

Provide components of physical therapy treatment plans while working under the direct supervision of the treating physical therapist and may act as a physician extender in physician clinics, coordinating patient flow and supporting physicians.

Supervise supportive clinical personnel (i.e., aides, students), participate in a teaching capacity, and assist with administrative procedures.

Work within scope of practice as outlined by the Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Athletic Trainers Board of the State of Ohio and comply with medical center, sports medicine, and outreach policies and guidelines.

Minimum Education Required

Bachelor's Level Degree

Required Qualifications Completion of an approved education program in athletic training and/or related health science field.

State of Ohio Athletic Trainer license and BOC certification.

Two to three years of experience in an outpatient orthopedic/sports medicine facility preferred; previous experience working with athletic populations is required.

Proficient in computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
