Job Purpose and Summary At CVS Health, we aim to improve access, lower costs, and provide trusted care. Within our retail locations, Staff Pharmacists play a critical role, acting as role models and ensuring quality pharmacy operations.

Responsibilities

Manage and improve patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.

Take direction from the Pharmacy Manager and oversee the pharmacy as proxy during bench shifts.

Assume day‑to‑day duties when serving as the primary pharmacist‑on‑duty.

Ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment, following workflow procedures and safety guardrails.

Deliver compassionate care, coaching the team to resolve insurance/medication issues.

Offer and deliver immunizations, supporting technicians in training.

Manage inventory best practices, protecting cold chain products.

Maintain compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations, escalating concerns as needed.

Support scheduling and write pharmacy schedules per direction.

Maintain clinical and technical skills through training and CME opportunities.

Provide pharmacist‑delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services where permissible.

Follow all applicable federal, state, and professional regulations and CVS Health policies.

Required Qualifications

Active Pharmacist License in the state of the store.

Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).

Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list.

Preferred Qualifications

1‑2 years of related pharmacy or customer service experience.

Willingness to work at other locations as business needs require.

Essential Functions

Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.

Complete required training within designated timeframe.

Attention and Focus

Concentrate on tasks and pivot quickly to meet patient and business needs.

Confirm prescription information and label accuracy.

Customer Service and Team Orientation

Actively help people in a friendly manner.

Recognize patients’ reactions and respond appropriately.

Communication Skills

Use verbal and written communication with patients and colleagues.

Practice active listening and ask questions as needed.

Mathematical Reasoning

Use math to calculate doses, supply, and bottle quantities.

Issue Resolution

Identify challenging interactions and choose best resolution options.

Physical Demands

Remain mobile and upright for extended periods.

Lift and move items up to 20 lbs.

Perform tasks that require fine finger movements and precision.

Perform additional tasks as directed by Supervisor or Manager.

Anticipated Weekly Hours 40 hours

Time Type Full time

Pay Range Base hourly rate or base annual full‑time salary: $60.00 – $76.00. Additional eligibility for bonus, commission, or short‑term incentive programs.
