The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) is seeking a qualified Psychologist for an hourly position at West Central Georgia Regional Hospital in Columbus, Georgia. West Central provides inpatient services to consumers from 31 counties. The hospital has two treatment units: Adult Mental Health and Secure Long-term Care, serving 140 secure (forensic) and 40 adult mental health (civil) patients with 186 beds that can reach full capacity at any point in time.
Responsibilities
Work in coordination with multidisciplinary treatment teams in an inpatient setting with adults involved with the criminal justice system.
Complete competency to stand trial evaluations, criminal responsibility, and violence risk assessments.
Conduct annual comprehensive reviews and provide court testimony as required.
Participate in the post-doctoral psychology fellowship program through supervision, didactics, and administrative and organizational functions.
Qualifications
Doctorate degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA-accredited college or university.
Current Georgia license to practice psychology (temporary, provisional, or permanent).
One year of experience at the lower level Psychologist 1 (HCP140) or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience serving psychiatric inpatients and individuals with Severe and Persistent Mental Illness.
Excellent writing and organizational skills.
Experience working on interdisciplinary teams.
Experience providing psychological assessment.
Experience providing group interventions.
Competency in service provision with diverse clients.
