Overview Be part of the solution to the behavioral health crisis. As a team member for ND Department of Health & Human Services, you will ensure the most vulnerable have access to a high-quality healthcare system in which prevention works, treatment is effective, and people recover.

Responsibilities

Conduct crisis stabilization or therapeutic intervention.

Provide supportive therapy to mitigate crisis situations and develop safety plans for individuals at risk.

Assist individuals in obtaining appropriate services within or outside the agency.

Coordinate social detox, crisis residential placements, and admissions to the North Dakota State Hospital.

Provide support to other regions as needed via telehealth platforms.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or ND Board-approved areas, and ND licensure as a LCSW or LPCC, OR a Doctorate in Psychology and ND licensure as a Psychologist.

If fully licensed candidates are unavailable, candidates may qualify as a Human Relations Counselor with a master’s in Social Work and licensure as an LMSW, or a master’s in Counseling and licensure as an LPC.

Candidates holding a master’s in Counseling and licensure as an LAPC who are within two years of obtaining an LPCC may be considered; applicant must submit licensing progress and training hours.

Licensed Baccalaureate Social Worker (LBSW) candidates with 2 years of professional human services experience in roles such as social worker, human relations counselor, developmental disabilities case manager, mental illness case manager, vocational rehabilitation counselor, activity therapist, addiction counselor, registered nurse, employment counselor, or a similar professional level position.

Skills Trainer-BMod candidates with a master’s in psychology, social work, counseling, education, child development and family science, or communication disorders; or a bachelor's degree in one of these fields plus two years of related work experience.

Valid driver’s license and completion of a defensive driving course during new-hire orientation.
