Scrub Tech Ortho – Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Nursing, a Certified Surgical Technologist scrubs for surgical procedures and demonstrates competence while functioning as a member of the surgical team.
Prepare and maintain supplies, instruments, and equipment related to procedures.
Support the philosophy, objectives and goals of the Surgery Center.
Participate in quality improvement activities.
Experience in Orthopedics, ENT, General, GI, Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Pain, Plastic, Podiatry, Urology.
Qualifications Education
High school graduate or equivalent.
Licensure/Certification
BLS Required.
Completion of an appropriate surgical technician program or at least two years of surgical technician experience.
Required Experience
Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center strongly preferred.
Ortho Experience Required
Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient.
Understanding of aseptic techniques and implementation.
Ability to adapt quickly to changing patient conditions.
Excellent team player with communication skills with staff, patients and physicians.
