Physician – Obesity Medicine (WVU Medicine)
Location: Morgantown, WV
WVU Medicine, part of the West Virginia University Health System with 18 hospitals and a large network of clinics, is the state’s largest private employer and a national leader in patient safety and quality.
We are seeking an Obesity Medicine physician to practice in the Medical Weight Management Program. Faculty appointments may be Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. The successful candidate will work primarily in Morgantown and may be required to travel to additional sites in West Virginia and Pennsylvania.
Our Medical Weight Management Program is the non‑surgical component of the WVU Medicine Medical and Surgical Weight‑Loss Center, which offers bariatric surgery, endoscopy, and a team of dietitians, psychologists, advanced practice professionals, and nurses.
Responsibilities
Provide individualized medical weight‑loss plans and participate in telemedicine, shared appointments, and care‑team meetings.
Serve patients in the Obesity Medicine clinic and on additional worksites as required.
Teach medical students, residents, and fellows and supervise trainees.
Engage in quality improvement, research, and scholarly activity.
Qualifications
MD or DO (or foreign equivalent) with an active state medical license.
Successfully completed an accredited internal medicine, family medicine, or medicine‑pediatrics residency and be board‑eligible in the primary specialty.
Board certification in Obesity Medicine within 3 years of hire.
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 21.2 Exempt, United States of America.
