WILDLIFE BIOLOGIST IIDFWRC WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT PROGRAM (DFWRC Division of Fish, Wildlife, Recreation and Conservation) NATURAL RESOURCES DEPARTMENT POLSON, MT
Remote: The position will be located in the Wildlife Management Program at the Department of Fish, Wildlife, Recreation and Conservation in Polson, MT.
The successful applicant is required to possess a Master of Science degree in Wildlife Biology or Wildlife Management, with specific coursework in mammal and bird identification, plant identification, policy and administration, wildlife ecology, statistics (including advanced statistics coursework), plant ecology, and general wildlife biology. Direct experience in research design, data entry and statistical analysis, compilation of scientific research reports is essential. A minimum of seven (7) years of increasingly responsible work experience in professional wildlife biology or wildlife management, research design, data entry and statistical analysis, compilation of scientific research reports is essential. Proof of eligibility for professional certification by The Wildlife Society is desirable.
Given the demands of the position, the Wildlife Biologist II must possess the ability to clearly analyze potentially difficult situations and react quickly in a calm and professional manner in public settings. Knowledge of wildlife, habitat and wildlife inventory techniques especially for nongame and bird species; specific skills in bird identification by sight and song is preferred. Must have a valid driver’s license.

This position is not a testing designated position (TDP) within the definition of the CSKT Drug Testing policy. The successful applicant, if not already employed by CSKT must pass pre-hire drug test and serve a mandatory six (6) month probationary period. FAILURE TO SUBMIT ALL OF THE INFORMATION ABOVE WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION DURING THE SCREENING PROCESS.
Salary range $30.99 to $35.62 per hour (Including Benefits: Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement, Long-term Disability, and PTO & Paid Holidays).
