Job Description

The VXLAN Network Engineer is responsible for deploying and implementing modern data center network architectures leveraging VXLAN, BGP, and EVPN. This role focuses on executing deployment activities for already completed network designs—particularly Spine-Leaf architectures using Arista switches—and ensuring seamless implementation in the client’s production environment. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience with automation tools such as Ansible, understands Arista platforms including CloudVision Portal (CVP), and can troubleshoot issues during migration or deployment activities. Python scripting experience is beneficial but not mandatory. Key Responsibilities

Execute deployments and configurations based on finalized network designs (VXLAN / EVPN fabric, Spine-Leaf architectures). Run automation scripts (e.g., Ansible playbooks), validate successful execution, and troubleshoot failures. Ensure solution compatibility with existing infrastructure and client architecture standards. Perform testing to validate performance, stability, and security prior to go‑live. Create detailed documentation of configurations, implementation procedures, and templates for client use. Troubleshoot technical issues during provisioning, migration, and rollout phases. Work with project managers and cross‑functional stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met. Provide post‑implementation tuning, optimization, and support. Required Technical Skills

Must have

of the following: VXLAN BGP EVPN Strongly preferred (candidates should have as many as possible): Spine-Leaf architecture Ansible automation (ability to run and diagnose playbooks) Arista switching platforms Arista CloudVision Portal (CVP) Python scripting (preferred, not required) Preferred Experience & Attributes

Self-starter with strong ownership and accountability. Able to work in a fast‑paced environment with shifting priorities. Strong decision‑making skills and ability to assess risk. Able to communicate clearly with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders. Organized and detail‑oriented with excellent documentation habits. Collaborative and able to partner effectively with cross‑functional teams. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience/technical training. 3+ years of hands‑on experience

in network engineering, supporting data center environments. Experience with: VXLAN / EVPN fabrics BGP routing Cisco Nexus or Arista platforms Unix/Linux background is a plus. Relevant certifications are a plus (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, Arista ACE/ACX). Ability to work occasional weekends or after‑hours for migration cutovers.
