Cash Applications Supervisor
Dallas, TX – 4 days onsite
Vaco has partnered with one of our large, PE-backed distribution clients that has doubled in size and revenue in the last couple of years to help find a Cash Applications Supervisor. This will be a hands‑on role with 2‑3 direct reports ideally suited for someone with a strong working knowledge of unapplied cash. This team rolls up to a fantastic CFO that we’ve worked with for years—she is known for building up really strong cultures and people love working with/for her.
CULTURE super important – smaller group, like to get along with each other, learn from the team, build/feed off of each other while working independently (sense of humor huge plus).
Compensation: $75-85K
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate daily cash application activities, including lockbox, ACH, wire, credit card, and check payments
Ensure accurate and timely posting of customer payments to accounts receivable in accordance with company policies
Review and resolve unapplied cash, short pays, overpayments, and payment discrepancies
Manage customer remittance processing and ensure proper documentation and audit trails
Lead, coach, and develop cash application staff; set performance expectations and conduct reviews
Establish and maintain standard operating procedures and internal controls related to cash application
Partner with Accounts Receivable and Credit teams to support collections and dispute resolution
Reconcile cash receipts to bank statements and the general ledger
Support month-end close activities, including reporting and reconciliations
Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities to increase efficiency and accuracy
Ensure compliance with SOX and other internal control requirements, as applicable
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
4+ years of experience in cash application or accounts receivable, with prior supervisory or lead experience
Strong understanding of cash application processes, bank reconciliations, and AR systems
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar)
High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
