The Schedule Management Office (SMO) Eastern Regional Team Lead manages and maintains project schedules in the Eastern Region (Divisions 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6) in accordance with the NCDOT State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) in SAP.
For scheduling issues related to projects located within their region, the SMO Regional Team Lead serves as the primary point of contact for Project Managers and the SMO Manager. The Regional Team Lead collaborates with other staff members in their region to address schedule change requests, resolve Schedule Tracking and Reporting System (STaRS) network issues, update past-due schedule data, validate information in schedule reports, and attend project schedule-related meetings, such as PS&E review meetings and 15-month Let review meetings.**Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences****Salary Range and Salary Grade: NC20 $67,852 - $118,741****Management prefers applicants with the following:*** Considerable knowledge of the project development process—from the planning phase, through environmental document preparation and completion, continuing through the design phase, and concluding with project letting.* Experience conveying technical and schedule-related information across multidisciplinary teams.* Experience with problem-solving skills and managing multiple tasks simultaneously, particularly under time constraints and pressure.* Working knowledge of the SAP system.* Experience in data manipulation using Microsoft Excel and SAP Business Warehouse.Additional Expectations:Registration as a professional engineer by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors is preferred.**Minimum Education and Experience**Some state job postings say you can qualify by an “equivalent combination of education and experience.” If that language appears below, then you may qualify through EITHER years of education OR years of directly related experience, OR a combination of both.
