Job Overview: The Software Developer designs, builds, configures, and tests IT solutions across various hosting solutions. This can be on premises or on public/private clouds with AWS and Azure based on IT and business requirements.

This position requires a proactive mindset, technical background, and end‑user analysis skills to develop/support solutions within the Financial Services organization. IT experience in analysis, design, development, deployment, and integration of solutions; hands‑on experience in building medium‑to‑large solutions; flexibility and ability to adapt to a variety of responsibilities along with aptitude and drive are crucial to succeed in this role.

Strong foundation of programming languages like Python and/or Java, knowledge of cloud services, knowledge of integration and DevOps concepts, and documentation relevant to maintenance of solutions are essential.

Responsibilities: As a software developer, understand the functional aspects, processes, interfaces, screens, mock‑ups and data of dependent systems. Strong understanding of how to structure code, patterns, development design, data structures, and development. This profile will leverage all available skills to enhance and strengthen our application development capabilities and create solutions that are robust, scalable, and secure. (40%)

Develop and implement system changes; work with end users and other IT colleagues to develop system requirements; develop program changes; develop use and associated test cases; execute test plans; implement system changes; document the program changes and results in accordance with department and compliance standards. Ensure that all tasks are performed in accordance with IT standards; perform production support as required; promptly address customer issues/tickets; address system issues by performing root cause analysis and eliminating repeat problems. (30%)

Plan/communicate: assist as necessary in developing project plans and schedules; track progress to plans; communicate status, issues and risks to supervisor, colleagues and stakeholders on a timely basis. (20%)

Develop strong and productive relationships with business partners, colleagues and management. Collaborate with DFS colleagues in other regions for building scalable solutions. (10%)

Qualifications: Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. at the time of application. Relocation assistance will not be provided for this position. This position requires a minimum of 1+ years of overall work experience. Preferred experience includes Information Technology.

Education: Bachelor's degree is required; master's degree is preferred. Recommended majors include Computer/Information Science and Information Technology.

Cloud‑specific certifications.

Work with end users to understand and implement new requirements.

Work in a team environment to develop, test and deploy software and platforms.

Develop high‑performance, scalable solutions, front‑end to back‑end services, integration of solutions; knowledge of database access patterns and JDBC.

IBM InfoSphere DataStage, Informatica, InfoSphere QualityStage, PL/SQL, Erwin, MicroStrategy, Visio, UC4 programming and scheduling, Korn Shell scripting, familiarity with RESTful APIs.

Docker, GitLab CI is desirable. Provide operational support when necessary.

Experience in analytical, problem‑solving, troubleshooting, performance tuning and conducting root cause analysis.

Certifications and experience in cloud services are desirable.
