Vesuvius is seeking a dynamic
Supply Chain Manager
to lead the transformation of our Chicago Heights plant operations. This is a high impact role driving lean excellence, automation, and material flow optimization from raw materials through finished goods.
What You’ll Do
Define and execute raw material strategy to minimize inventory while ensuring rapid customer responsiveness.
Challenge and redesign intralogistics processes to eliminate inefficiencies and strengthen plant agility.
Transition all inventory from floor stored pallets to rack systems, leveraging WMS,
Excel, JDE, SAP , and automated warehouse technologies (EGVs or equivalent).
Lead and inspire a team of Schedulers, Material Planners, and Shipping & Receiving professionals.
Partner with Procurement and global supply chain teams to optimize working capital and inventory management.
Facilitate lean workshops and embed a culture of continuous improvement.
Running ABC analysis in the warehouse to optimize stock positioning, doing spaghetti analysis in order to minimize the flow of materials, manning, and forklifts.
Applying Kanban models if necessary and checking opportunities to create milk run either internally and/or externally with suppliers in collaboration with procurement.
What We’re Looking For
Proven supply chain leadership in manufacturing environments.
Strong lean expertise with a track record of measurable improvements.
Hands‑on experience with WMS, rack storage, and automated warehouse systems.
Proficiency in
Excel, JDE, and SAP .
Ability to challenge the status quo and deliver breakthrough results.
Soft skills: strong communication, collaboration, influencing, adaptability, and team leadership.
