Third Shift Supervisor/Dispatcher Reports To
Operations Manager Company
Relay Express is a 24/7 Logistical Solutions Provider headquartered in Fairfield, Ohio. Schedule
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 20:00-08:00; 30 hours weekly; full‑time salary. Duties and Responsibilities
Understand all Relay Express Large Vehicle service types and customer‑specific SOPs. Build strong geographic and operational knowledge of service markets and driver fleets. Monitor fleet capacity in real time to anticipate needs before orders are placed. Conduct driver pre‑check calls two hours before report time to confirm availability and understanding of assignments. Assign orders to the most qualified contractor based on driver readiness and market requirements. Proactively track all drivers using GPS and dispatch software to ensure on‑time pickups and deliveries. Log all critical delivery details in real time (arrival/departure times, BOL numbers, freight counts, PODs, etc.). Maintain open communication with Branch Managers to align dispatch operations with IC capacity and performance targets. Promote safety by ensuring ELD and FMCSR compliance. Uphold Relay Express’ Social Covenant, fostering a respectful and compassionate workplace. Pick parts for outgoing orders while adhering to specific requirements (quantities, names, part numbers, serials, return packs, etc.). Represent the company professionally in appearance, conduct, and communication. Maintain professional attire, language, and business demeanor in all dealings with customers, employees, and vendors. Experience and Skill Requirements
Experience in fast‑paced dispatch, customer service, or phone centers. Ability to multi‑task through phone communications and real‑time software‑based tracking and dispatch systems. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office proficiency and the ability to become an expert on the company’s dispatch platform. Desire to work independently and proactively to support the overall team dispatch operations goals. Strong communication skills and the ability to develop positive relationships with the driver fleet. Professional image and communication skills. Ability to adapt to changing customer needs and driver availability. Ability to manage multiple factors in a high‑stress environment. Ability to work a flexible schedule, with the understanding that additional time may be required as demand dictates. Benefits and Compensation
