About this Role The Institute for Radiation Health Studies at Kansas State University is seeking a research fellow to serve as the group’s Radiation Biology Discipline Lead Scientist. Position responsibilities include fostering collaborations with researchers across campus conducting radiation health-related studies, substantial laboratory work to develop preliminary data for grant proposals, and grant proposal writing.

Worksite Description This position is On‑site. All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. Kansas State University is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.
What You’ll Need to Succeed Minimum Qualifications
PhD in radiation biology or closely related field
The degree requirement is necessary to ensure candidates possess the requisite knowledge
Preferred Qualifications
Extensive experience conducting radiation biology experiments, including imaging and quantification
Experience in grant proposals
Experience in mathematics and statistics to conduct model fits to data and interpret results
Experience leading winning grant proposals
Advanced knowledge of radiation dosimetry
Experience conducting experiments with neutron sources
Additional Role Information
Successful applicant must be willing and able to travel for conference and workshop participation on a regular basis
Sponsorship Eligibility
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.
