University Overview

Charles R. Drew University (CDU) is located in the Watts‑Willowbrook area of south Los Angeles. Founded in 1966 to address unmet medical needs in the region, CDU offers the only historically black Doctor of Medicine program west of the Mississippi, and it is deeply invested in community health equity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Input, maintain, and ensure the correctness of data in PowerCampus student service system.

Serve as the main point of contact with staff, faculty, and students from CDU’s medical school.

Provide medical students with course and clerkship registration support.

Manage the university’s AAMC Student Records System (SRS).

Oversee and execute critical enrollment verifications for internships, fellowships, and residency applications, ensuring compliance with site, institutional, and accreditation standards.

Assist students with registration questions and form processing across medical and undergraduate programs.

Respond to inquiries regarding College of Medicine course setup and curriculum.

Handle transcript, education, and degree verifications.

Maintain records, check data and prepare standard documentation.

Manage withdrawals, leaves of absence, and all aspects of student enrollment.

Maintain course setup information in PowerCampus and AD.

Manage student files, including transcripts and related documents.

Handle enrollment and degree submittal for the National Student.

Update student degree progress requirements in internal systems.

Coordinate with the Assistant Registrar to ensure VA benefits eligibility for veterans and dependents.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

May perform other related duties as assigned, such as:

Support undergraduate and graduate clearance processes.

Assist with the ordering office.

Support functions of the Office of Admissions and Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships on an as‑needed basis.

Assist in preparation of audits in the Office of the Registrar.

Assist with development of the University Catalog.

Participate in university events, which occasionally occur during evenings or weekends.

Education / Experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (or combined education and experience) required.

Three years of relevant experience in the Office of the Registrar.

Medical school experience preferred but not required.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

Capacity to learn and operate new software systems.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred knowledge of university and medical school academic and curriculum policies and procedures.

Advanced word‑processing, spreadsheet, and data entry proficiency.

Excellent oral and written communication; clear telephone and electronic correspondence.

Highly detail‑oriented and organized.

Complexity The ability to perform highly detailed work with sustained attention and care while providing/obtaining information on numerous inquiries is paramount to success in this position.

Physical Demands

Work environment is typical of an academic administrative office.

Benefits

Medical, dental, vision, retirement plan, vacation accrues on the first day of employment, wellness programs, 17 paid holidays per year, and up to 16 hours of paid time off for community service.

Full Time – Annual Salary: $72,000.00 + benefits
