Position Summary The Support Teacher supports the CHS mission by assisting in implementing developmentally appropriate activities in the classroom that support children’s development and ensure health and safety.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in implementing a routine of developmentally appropriate activities by supporting children’s social, physical, cognitive, ATL, and language development.
Assist in implementing a developmentally appropriate early childhood program, consistently applying MO Childcare Licensing Standards and EHS Performance Standards.
Maintain Infant Toddler CPR and First Aid certification; help prepare materials and classrooms for early care and learning, maintain ratios and support general childcare tasks for evening meetings and events.
Attend meetings and trainings to follow regulatory compliance (CHS, Licensing, Sanitation, USDA CACFP, EHS).
Maintain cleanliness of the assigned area by performing laundry and common‑area cleaning and following guidelines in food preparation.
Promote a positive safety culture by following established safe‑work practices and policies.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Demonstrate strong working knowledge of HS Performance Standards, MO Childcare Licensing, USDA CACFP, sanitation regulations, and developmentally appropriate practices.

Qualifications Required Education
High school diploma or high‑school equivalency (GED/HiSET)
Required Experience
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong computer skills.
Preferred Experience
Knowledge of Paycom platform, ChildPlus, MO kitchen sanitation regulations, Head Start performance standards.
Miscellaneous Requirements
Medical exam and TB assessment required prior to hire and every five years.
Background screening including fingerprinting required prior to hire and every five years.
