Peer Recovery Support Specialist/Transporter – 2nd Shift – Manteno
Job Description
Family Guidance Centers, Inc. (FGC) is a not‑for‑profit behavioral health organization that treats and prevents substance use disorder and related problems. Since 1969, FGC’s comprehensive programming has educated and guided individuals toward their full potential as productive members within their families and society.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Transport program patients for admission and discharge, medical and other community appointments (approximately 75 % of work time).
Maintain cleanliness and appearance of agency vans.
PRSS/RC Duties (dependent on transport schedule)
Provide motivational support to assist counselors in meeting therapeutic goals.
Support treatment plans by reporting client observations and supporting decisions concerning therapy, discipline and privilege (at a minimum twice per shift, subject to change).
Assist case manager/counselor with client activities by implementing scheduled and/or requested activities.
Cooperate with nursing and medical staff to monitor clients’ vital signs, observe urine drops, monitor self‑administration of medications, and chart all pertinent data.
Perform room and facility checks at varying intervals to ensure client comfort, safety and well‑being.
Location 333 Evergreen West Street, Manteno, IL
Schedule Sunday – Thursday, 12:00 PM – 8:30 PM (2nd shift)
Pay Rate $17.50 per hour
Requirements
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED (required). Experience in substance use, detox programs, medication‑assisted treatment, behavioral healthcare and/or community relations encouraged.
Certificates and Licenses:
Driver’s license and current insurance. Must become certified as Certified CPRS/CRSS within one year.
DCFS clearance required.
Must work in a drug‑free environment (including THC and/or CBD).
